Run Windows Applications on Linux

How to Install Wine on Ubuntu Linux Using Terminal - There are two ways to run Windows OS applications on Linux. First using Virtual Box and second using Wine.

If you use a virtual box, that means you need to install Windows OS on your Linux with the help of the Virtual Box simulator application. If you want to go straight, then use Wine.

Wine is a linux application that can run Windows OS programs on Linux that have an .exe format. This is one of the conveniences if you use Linux.

Install Wine Ubuntu

How to install it is quite easy. Below I share terminal commands that you can use.

these commands can be used for Linux with Ubuntu variants, some are compatible to be installed on Debian variants.

Open a terminal and enter the following command:

// Enable i386 architecture (32bit):
$ sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

//Update system data and repositories
sudo apt update
sudo apt install software-properties-common wget

//Download repository key
$ wget -qO - | sudo apt-key add -

//Add Repository
sudo apt-add-repository 'deb focal main'

//Install Wine
$ sudo apt update
sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-stable

//Check Version
$ wine --version

Then a request to install the Mono application will appear. If it doesn't appear automatically, look for the .exe format file, double click it, a mono install application request will appear like this picture:
